*Don't worry - England is the size of Pennsylvania, so it's only a 2 hour drive from London!
Joel
Joel grew up in a small town outside of Wells, UK as the second of four sons to Jonathan & Susan Thompson.
Joel is quiet and curious, with strong passions in film and music. He owns over 1000 CDs and collects vintage speakers and synthesizers dating back to the 1930s. He loves the library and warm cups of unsweetened cocoa.
Joel graduated King's College London with a Bachelor's in Philosophy, and is currently studying software engineering.
Ruby
Ruby grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as the only child to Jonathan & Victoria Walker.
Ruby can be described as a driven out-of-the-box thinker. Their childhood revolved around clarinet lessons, long hours playing The Sims, and dancing to dad's Radiohead CDs.
Ruby earned a full scholarship to The University of Pittsburgh and completed a Master's in Social Work. Today, they work as an psychotherapist specializing in relationships & sexual health.
Together
Joel and Ruby matched on Hinge January 2, 2023. They connected over weird music and mutual dreams to drop everything and move to Berlin.
Four days later, Ruby asked:
"Wanna go out together? Like now?"
They went to a queer dance party at a goth club. Joel did not dance.
The rest is history.
